There is nothing so special as a Christmas market. Every town and city in the world celebrates the holiday season with festive markets offering as much Christmas spirit as you could possibly want. Savannah’s Christmas Market is especially joyful, and four blocks of the city are transformed into a must-see event. It is truly a family celebration, with so many activities for kids you will have to go back again and again. Street performers and carol singers perform under the starlight, while the traders sell all manner of special Christmas treats ideal for that last-minute Christmas shopping. And if you are hungry then you can enjoy the unique yule-time food available at many of the food stalls. Perhaps even a glass or two of mulled wine.

The Holiday Pops

A relatively new tradition that started in 2008 has become a firm fixture of the Savannah Christmas calendar. The Holiday Pops is a celebration of music that is hosted by the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra. Expect all the favorite Christmas tunes along with some modern renditions of old classics. It is not just the orchestra that is featured at this musical treat, there are also choirs, soloists and a host of special guests to add to that festive spirit. Savannah is an enchanting place to spend the holidays. It is like going back in time where innocent fun was lapped up by young and old alike. It embodies what true Christmas spirit is all about and Savannah opens its arms wide to accept visitors to join in the celebrations with them.
